Description

hi there,

I have a 2012R2 AD server and am trying to connect freenas to it.

the directory service for active directory is working, shows successful but it never pulls any users or groups.

I am using the accounts button or pulldown to view users and groups, and they don't come in.

any suggestions of what could be wrong?

best regards,

Jake

BRB: We see the AD users in the debug, what exactly isn't working?

#5 Updated by Jake Thiessen about 4 years ago

I am expecting the users and groups to show up when I click the accounts side tab or the accounts icon, only internal users are listed.

Directory access looks successful but when I create a CIFS share users only partially show up.

creating the share, and then enabling cifs, the share is not browseable at all either via \\IP or \\ixnas

resolving ixnas is working

I've gone through a few sets of forums of getting this working, and nothing seems to work. I've started up 9.3 stable and will try to recreate

The accounts tab is for creating local users and will only show those.

When you select users on a share, it automatically truncates to 50 to prevent a performance lag. If you start typing in the desired user/group name, it will display up to 50 results that match.

confirmed original issue is working as described

I still cannot get a CIFS share working, I'll dig into it more tomorrow.

this issue is closed, thanks
