I'm testing this and Plex is not starting from a fresh install. It looks like it writes "Plex Media Server/Plug-in\ Support/Databases/com.plexapp.plugins.library.db" with read-only permissions (444).
I assume this is a bug with fresh installs of version 1.0.2 on FreeBSD. Do other's experience this issue?

Looks like plex has been pushing out the recent updates for their version 1.0 debut without proper testing.

There been quite a few issues reported with the recent updates. :(

I guess the bug was something I was causing. because I'm still building off a ports tree from 2014 (which is the only way to build PBIs for freenas), when I pulled in the latest port, some files weren't getting their permissions set correctly. created a workaround and 1.0.3 is now in the freenas repo

At this point plex should have long since updated but the fallen way behind so blaming you seems pointless.

They been increaseingly introducing bugs that never should see the light of day into their releases.

#7 Updated by Magnus Magnusman about 4 years ago

Not sure what the plex folks are doing but they managed to break it in some quite basic ways.

#8 Updated by Magnus Magnusman about 4 years ago

Oddly not showing in plugins.

#9 Updated by Joshua Ruehlig about 4 years ago

I think the CDN wasn't replicating the files, but I see it from whatever mirror I'm hitting as of now.
