Description

Some filer operations require multiple name lookups; this can block mount and acl operations and confer high loads to DNS infrastructure. If we use nscd to cache lookups from nsswitch.conf we can contain that load with an in memory cache. An Enable/Disable GUI control would be nice.

So much satan. Why do you hate FreeNAS so much that you propose this?

Why find problems early when you can wait and not find them until they cache incorrectly?
