FreeNAS manages files for me. Lots of them. It really changed my storage life, so thank you very much!
The one thing I keep stumbling over is that when I want to do mass renames I try mmv (multiple move, by Vladimir Lanin) on the shell on the FreeNAS directly and it's not there. So then I start a shell on a machine that mounts the directory tree over the network and use mmv there and it feels a little silly not to have it on "the all mighty file machine" itself.
There appears to be a FreeBSD fresh port in the misc section at https://www.freshports.org/misc/mmv/ but I am not sure whether that helps.
Just a thought.
Wasn't sure whether to classify this as FreeBSD or shell.
Thanks and Cheers!
