Description

Regarding Version: FreeNAS-11-MASTER-201711060512

The left menus are somewhat inconsistent:

System
Boot Environments (Example, the is two words)
NTPServers -> NTP Servers (Consider the more descriptive "Network Time Protocol")
AlertService -> Alert Service (Consider simply "Alerting" or "Alerts")
CloudCredentials -> Cloud Credentials (This does not imply the role of these credentials "Cloud Accounts"?)
CAs (Consider "Certificate Authorities" - I LOVE California and Canada though)

Tasks
Init/Shutdown Scripts -> (Perhaps Boot/Shutdown Scripts?)
Rsync -> rsync (Lower case)

Storage
vmware-Snapshots -> VMware Snapshots

Directory Service -> Directory Services
ActiveDirectory -> Active Directory

Sharing
ISCSI -> iSCSI
Rsync -> rsync

Services
netdata (Opens new tab with Nginx error - what is netdata?)

Jails
Instances (What are these? Jails?)

SHELL -> Shell

General suggestion: Clicking on a menu items that has sub-menu items leaves the previous menu in the body of the window. Consider showing the first sub-menu item for each menu item (Network would show Global Configuration, Storage would should Volumes, rather than Seeing Volumes when you click back to Network) Consider a status page of some form rather than Sharing: AFP when you click Sharing.

Looking good!

Lola, might want to split some of these into new tickets. For example I know netdata UI doesn't work until you start the service, so we should probably hide the link if it's stopped.

what do you mean by General suggestions, can you please elaborate? thanks.

For example: If you first click on a sub-section of any given section, i.e. Storage: Directory Service, and then click on the top level of "System", it still shows "Storage: Directory Service" in the main window. Please pint me on Telegram if not clear.

Thanks!

Here is a screen capture of what I am talking about. I was on "Volumes" and clicked "Accounts", which still shows "Volumes".

As discussed in the UI meeting, this is an expected behavior.

For 11.2, the left menu should follow the left menu tree of the old UI as that is how the Guide is layed out.
