Is it possible to add file indexing service that runs on the server and will allow quick search via SMB / AFP?

Synology DSM has such feature and it works great across Windows Mac and Linux PC's

Kris: is this something that could be added to the roadmap?

I'm thinking we'd probably not be so eager to do it on AFP, but Samba may be interesting. Timur, assigning this to you for "research". Can you look into if this is something we'd have to do SMB specific, or could it be a separate middleware indexer that we export the data to SMB/AFP etc?
