Description

I have a PowerEdge R210 II that is set to boot in UEFI mode. After Grub, I get the "No suitable video mode found. Booting in EFI blind mode" message, and then the video goes wonky. I tried setting kFreeBSD.kern.vty to "sc" and that just disables the output entirely.

Double check that in your BIOS the legacy support for bios controls is disabled, I.E. pure UEFI only. We've seen that with that legacy mode enabled, the UEFI bios on some systems won't properly do a screen resolution switch, which it turn doesn't get passed down to the kernel and results in this.

No luck there. I scoured the System Setup, Boot Settings, and System Services areas for anything mentioning legacy.

Ultimately the issue here is going to be getting off GRUB and back to a sane bootloader for our product. WiP is here:

I am not seeing that weird grub graphic tear on multiple VM and machine. Using FreeNAS-11.2-MASTER-201806191350 (4d34a765b).
