Description

On FreeNAS 11.1-RELEASE there is a field called "Enclosure Slot" that can be found in "Storage -> View Disks."

User Guide appears to not mention this field at all.

Dialog box does not list this field when an individual disk is selected.

Would like to map information to this field with a script if possible.

The Enclosure Slot field is for use with our TrueNAS systems. It should not be visible on FreeNAS. In either case, it could not be populated by a script, as the information in it comes from SES drive enclosures like our expansion shelves.

The upcoming Angular GUI is supposed to allow notes fields in much of the GUI, and that might work for user-generated notes.

I have my FreeNAS running in a system with SES drive enclosure, why would you take that from us when it should be a simple thing to make it work?

We are going to repoen this and look at adding this in the new UI. If it's empty, can we hide?

Erin: similar to how IPMI is hidden when that hardware is not present, this column should also auto-hide if their is no hardware enclosure.

This is needed for feature parity as the associated ticket is in BETA1 (that is the legacy UI will not display this screen in BETA1).
