Description

After upgrading to 11.1-U1 today, I noticed that the Change E-mail button is missing from the bottom of the Account -> Users -> View Users screen. This occurs with legacy UI on both Safari 11.0.2 and Firefox 57.0.4. This may have been intentionally removed. If so, the System -> Email config screen should probably be updated to remove this instruction. If the user's email is updated using the regular Modify User screen, does this require me to fill in password fields and reset password? I.e., if I leave the password fields blank, will the system just update the other fields?

History

#1 Updated by Peter Samouelian about 1 year ago

Researching further, it looks like this button was intentionally removed as part of Ticket: #25565 (changed in gui/account/admin.py). The instructions need to be updated in gui/templates/system/email_edit.html. More importantly, though, how should we update the root email w/o changing/revalidating the password?

Password does not need change. You can leave password blank and it will use existing one.
