Description

I have install a freenas at a storageserver with 8 x 2TB = raid50,
the boot of freenas is on this raid.
But cannot create any volume or nfs volume
root@nas:/ # df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
freenas-boot/ROOT/default 11T 825M 11T 0% /
devfs 1.0K 1.0K 0B 100% /dev
tmpfs 32M 10M 22M 32% /etc
tmpfs 4.0M 8.0K 4.0M 0% /mnt
i have this error on volume creating: You need a data disk group
and this error on add a nfs share:
You need at least one path for the share
Path
Path:
The path must reside within a volume mount point, ,,
at the path show me only / ?!
Is any away to create volume on the same location as freenas location /root =11TB?

To clarify: you installed freenas on a storage disk rather than on a separate boot device?

Also, is this a hardware RAID controller? If so, is it in JBOD mode?

The Freenas is installed on the (8x2TB,as Raid50 from bios),
I have read that must used a external usb to install freenas system, but i have installed just on this RAID,without raid controller)

You don't want to do that as you've just wasted the entire capacity of that disk. You also don't want to use any RAID as ZFS will use its own RAID. Please refer to http://doc.freenas.org/11/intro.html#hardware-recommendations for more details.
