Description

Plugins seem to create the worst jail names, it would be nice to be able to rename the jail when hitting the wrench to edit the jail and give it something a little easier to remember all inside the GUI

this may also be related to the job I opened, where I can’t install the same plugin twice.

For testing purposes, or fixing s broken plugin, it can be handy to install the same plugin a second time, which we can do, under warden, not under the new iocage ui for plugins.

Someone said in the comments for that, we would need to be able to rename the jail or something, so that might be related.

There were a few bugs with the "rename" functionality in the older versions of iocage, but it should work in 11.2-BETA2 (from the command line). This is indeed a possible workaround to install the same plugin more than once.

Note that there's very similar request logged already to implemented the "rename" functionality in the new UI: https://redmine.ixsystems.com/issues/31194

According to that issue, this should be available in 11.2-BETA3

Jurgen,

Does it work under B2 now? What's the exact iocage rename command? I can test it.
May solve a ticket I just opened 5 minutes ago.

Yes this works from the CLI in 11.2-beta2, example syntax to rename qbittorrent to qbittorrent_old:

iocage rename qbittorrent qbittorrent_old

Jurgen:

Too late, I wish I'd ran the command BEFORE I attempted to install the plugin.
Intended jail to rename destroyed by the plugin script.

Thanks regardless, fixing the mess now :)
