Description

When selecting a UPS model that uses the "snmp-ups" driver, it is not appropriate to select any /dev file as being the port. Rather the "port" should be the IP address of the UPS.

Can you workaround it by using the auxiliary parameters field?

Surprisingly the "port" field allows direct entry of text and the drop-down list can be ignored.
The community does need to be added as an additional.
There should also be a "Generic UPS RFC 1628 (snmp-us)" driver entry.

This has shown up on the forums a few times now. I could've sworn it had been added to the manual, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Ideally, the GUI should change the field's label to "IP address" and not list devices.

Erin, this seems like something to be handled by UI.

When a snmp driver is selected it should use a free form text field for driver and perhaps change label to IP/Hostname?

Let me know if there is any backend change required for this.

I pushed the fix to this change here https://github.com/freenas/webui/pull/944, I do not have an SNMP enabled UPS to test this with but it looks like it does the right thing with saving the values.
