Directory Services -> Active Directory -> Advanced Mode -> Idmap backend drop-down: no warning on change
The Free/TrueNAS userguide states:
"Since selecting the wrong backend will break Active Directory integration, a pop-up menu will appear whenever changes are made to this setting."
This pop-up is in the legacy UI when changing the Idmap backend. See Idmap-backend-change-warning-2018-05-30.png
There is no warning in the webui when changing the Idmao backend.
Since changing the Idmap backend will break AD integration, this warning sounds important to have. Maybe not a pop-up as in the legacy UI, but perhaps red warning text under the drop-down?
For the sake of completeness/use of use, the text of the warning in the screenshot is:
STOP: Do you know what you are doing?
The idmap_ad plugin provides a way for Winbind to read id mappings from
an AD server that uses RFC2307/SFU schema extensions. This module
implements only the "idmap" API, and is READONLY. Mappings must be
provided in advance by the administrator by adding the uidNumber
attributes for users and gidNumber attributes for groups in the AD.
Winbind will only map users that have a uidNumber and whose primary
group have a gidNumber attribute set. It is however recommended that
all groups in use have gidNumber attributes assigned, otherwise they
are not working.
STOP: If your Active Directory is not configured for this, it will not work.
