Description

AFAIK I've never touched the NTP Server section. I have three entries 0.freebsd.pool.ntp.org, 1.freebsd.pool.ntp.org, 2.freebsd.pool.ntp.org but every time the system boots I get the alert No available NTP Servers

Enable ntpdate on boot ntpd_sync_on_start="YES" is not always enough. When system time is much ahead of real time, ntpd adjusts it correctly but then for some reason assigns .STEP. ref id to all servers. This leads to NTP Alert being false positive. It often happens when using VMs: e.g. hypervisor timezone is UTC and FreeNAS timezone is UTC-5. System will boot with clock set 5 hours ahead of real time, ntpd will set correct time but will display .STEP. ref id for all servers for 5 hours and NTP Alert code will consider system time as not synchronized.
