FreeNAS-specific patches to /etc/rc.d/jail do not apply cleanly to /etc/rc.d/jail in FreeBSD 10
Recently I created the freebsd10 branch in the TrueOS repository,
and rebased commits from the feature/unified_freebsd branch to FreeBSD stable/10.
This commit to TrueOS could not be rebased to FreeBSD to:
commit e27f977e5ef27b5927b6e9d87545993b3680b639 Author: William Grzybowski <firstname.lastname@example.org> Date: Wed Mar 6 10:18:14 2013 -0300 VIMAGE support for rc.d jail
The logic in the FreeBSD 9 version of this file has changed significantly in FreeBSD 10,
so the patch no longer applies.
In future, if we do these types of changes, we should push these changes upstream
into FreeBSD. If that is not possible, it might be better to create a FreeNAS-specific
rc.d file instead of modifiying the FreeBSD file and then not pushing the change upstream.
