Description

When creting the first ZFS volume, the syslog is set as a link from /var/log/messages to point to the .system dataset on the first volume. If that volume is deleted, and another volume is recreated with a different name, the syslog link isn't automatically changed

This is fixed in 9.2.1.6-BETA (see http://download.freenas.org/nightlies/9.2.1.6/BETA/20140609/ or later). Now the deletion should be appropriately hooked and the logging returned to /var until another pool is created, at which point the .system dataset will be recreated on that pool (and logging again pointed to it).
