Description

I am unsure, perhaps I just needed a symlink. I was unable to build [[FreeNAS]] from a clean checkout via 8.0.1-BETA4-1l following the README.TXT instructions.

For community folks to be able to help, it is important to be able to do this kind of thing.

Checking out and build off trunk works fine.

If the build process is 'make symlink to release directory' - that is cool too. Just would need to be update in the README.TXT file?

I know the comment is against the README.TXT file but there is a How To Guide at the following location: "How-to Guides" - "Installation", then look at the first two postings. This will get you building what is out there.

fbuild.sh seems to do this.

actually - probably better to keep this open. the README file that comes in via subversion should be updated?

I've cleaned out the README file and added a hints for how to build [[FreeNAS]] today, along with directions on how to do this manually in revisions r7537:r7539. Please reopen if you have any suggestions for how this can be improved further.
