Description

Looks like they've upstreamed a lot of the patches we've been maintaining separate to the port.

History

#1 Updated by Sean Fagan over 6 years ago

  • Status changed from Unscreened to Screened

Gah. It was a considerable amount of pain to upgrade it last time...

#2 Updated by Sean Fagan over 6 years ago

Looks like almost all of our code patches are still required. sigh.

#3 Updated by Jordan Hubbard over 6 years ago

  • Target version changed from 103 to 9.3-M3

Well, let's see how many more netatalk releases come out between now and M3. No sense chasing every minor point release.

BRB: Sean managed to resolve this without doing any work at all. Well done, Sean!

Okay, I've gone over the patches that are in our old ports, and the new port, and compared them to netatalk-3.1.3, and all is good.

3.1.3 includes the "chmod request" configuration directive which is super-helpful if you're sharing the same directories via both SMB and AFP. Setting it to "ignore" will respect ACL inheritance properly. This is of course assuming that netatalk in FreeNAS is compiled with ACL support.

I don't know how far you are with updating the Netatalk, but 3.1.4 has a bug fix for a hang that I would like to have implemented into FreeNAS. 3.1.5 and 3.1.6 do not have anything fix or new stuff that would be important to justify an update to those.

This is already resolved - we are currently at 3.1.6.
