Description

It would be nice to be able to import storage volumes that are already created elsewhere. This would present geoms to the user that are on the system, but aren't the root file system or mentioned in any group of disks.

+1 for this. Being able to move pools between servers is essential for me, in terms of planning for upgrades / changes (and especially for bringing in the existing zpool from my [[FreeNAS]] 0.7 server).

the easy way is to do a zpool export in [[FreeNAS]] 7.x and zpool import in [[FreeNAS]] 8.X, a screen to do a sincrhronize like in [[FreeNAS]] 7.x is good too.
