Description

In the past 6 months, my qBittorrent jail has broken itself at least 3 times maybe more, I can not access the WebUI, all networking aspects /appear/ to be correct.

I created a fresh pluginjail no less than 4 days ago now. I configured it and it's been fine. I've been able to stop and start it in that time, no problem.
I rebooted the entire system recently, checked it a few hours later, it had died again.

Jail stops / starts, no problem, can iocage console <jailname> in to it.
Jail can be pinged, I can ping out of the jail.

It's the same thing, every time, no web interface.

As per a thread on the forums helping me, I have the following work done.

root@qbittorrent:~ # cat /etc/rc.conf

ifconfig_epair0b="DHCP"
host_hostname="qbittorrent"
cron_flags="$cron_flags -J 15"

# Disable Sendmail by default
sendmail_enable="NONE"
sendmail_submit_enable="NO"
sendmail_outbound_enable="NO"
sendmail_msp_queue_enable="NO"

# Run secure syslog
syslogd_flags="-c -ss"

# Enable IPv6
ipv6_activate_all_interfaces="YES"
root@qbittorrent:~ #

It was lacking the following 2 lines, for god knows what reason (!?) which I found in a fresh, brand new plugin to help diagnose.

qbittorrent_user="qbittorrent"
qbit_enable="YES"

I added these lines, they did not fix the problem.

ls /usr/local/etc/rc.d/?

Only one word
"dbus"

Thread is here.

I can do an iocage export of the jail itself if needed and put it up somewhere, as long as no one judges whatever the content is of it. (I'm an Australian......... so bear that in mind...)

One quick note, only thing I can think of non standard.

I change the port of qbittorrent from 8181 (or is it 8080) to a very different port. Yes, I'm trying to access it on the new port and the old port when it dies, neither work.

Please don't make me beg,..

Surely I'm not the only FreeNAS user with this issue, it's stung me 3 times now.

  • Subject changed from qbittorrent jail 'breaks itself' and is unable to display web interface, 3'rd occurrence in 6 months now... to Do we have a way to install old plugins

I believe this fault MAY be with qbittorrent crashing - however I can make 4.1.3 and 4.1.4 crash.
It's taken an awfully long amount of time to diagnose.

https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/10001

If someone could give me some simple advice on how to pull debug information or version information to help the developers, it would be useful.
(example, I know qbittorrent.log is for qbittorrent, I've learnt dmesg is to do with bootup)
Is there some kind of overall, system log file which will actually SHOW the closing of the qbittorrent-nox process? Built into the jail / freenas? I'd appreciate it

Is this still an issue with 4.1.4_2 (the one mentioned at https://www.ixsystems.com/blog/december-freenas-plugins-updates/)?

I am closing this job for the time being as I've got 4.1.5 - I'll re-open it if the problem comes back.
I have bigger issues to deal with (figuring out permissions ...)

Thanks all.

Wait, I don't have close job rights - if soemone else can, appreciate.
