Description

I keep getting "call timeout" when changing settings.
I dont see open bugs that cover this. I found a few closed ones but since i get the error they dont seem applicable
trying to enable/disable replications, which still cannot be changed more than one at a time, is absolutely painful

These are symptoms that at least one of your USB flash drives are going back, taking a lot of time to commit database transactions.

Can you try replacing them and report back if your problems go away?

oho! i did have one drive die on upgrade. should have clued me into that but it didn't.
I'll replace them once my store is open.

with that in mind, I'm doing the changes slower and it does seem to work better.
it's too bad there probably isn't a consistent error that could be used to have an alert that a specific drive is underperforming

#6 Updated by Gavin Penney 5 months ago

yup, looks like that was it. replaced with ssds, everything is loads faster.
wish USB's were more reliable, they might be cheap and easy to use, but having to replace them constantly is annoying.
I don't see a way I can close this out.

Thanks for the feedback.

We will try to make the UIs handle slower USB flash drives in 11.2-U2.
