Description

I can select tapX devices of running VMs while creating/editing a new one.

If I can assign a used tapX interface it is also true that fortunately I can not use it on a new virtual machine as the system creates the new device.

  1. CREATE 2 VMs

1. useless
2. destroy

first is running with tap1 nic

tap1: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        description: Attached to useless
        options=80000<LINKSTATE>
        ether 00:bd:47:e6:49:01
        hwaddr 00:bd:47:e6:49:01
        nd6 options=1<PERFORMNUD>
        media: Ethernet autoselect
        status: active
        groups: tap
        Opened by PID 23669

second is created selecting tap1 from nic dropdown list

tap2: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        description: Attached to destroy
        options=80000<LINKSTATE>
        ether 00:bd:c8:f4:3c:02
        hwaddr 00:bd:c8:f4:3c:02
        nd6 options=1<PERFORMNUD>
        media: Ethernet autoselect
        status: active
        groups: tap
        Opened by PID 27853
