Description

When using Samba to access CIFS shares, the free and used space can sometimes be a little weird. See https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/mapped-network-drive-capacity-is-shrinking.27787 for a good example.

This issue has been a problem for FreeNAS (and lately TrueNAS) users and John apparently has a way to fix this easily.

Assigned to John Hixson per his request.

Spoke with Cyberjock about this. Samba has a "dfree command" that we can make use of to determine correct disk space. This seems straight forward and I should be able to complete this next week within a day.
