Description

The GUI allow to create a rsyncd module with "write only" mode, but client accessing it always receive an error.

After checking the rsyncd.conf generated the module has the line "write only = true", but it does not have "read only = false", which cause it to fail. Adding "read only = false", fixes it.

  • Status changed from Closed to Investigation

This error is present in 8.0.4-RELEASE-p2, upgraded from 8.03-RELEASE. Rsync was enabled only after the upgrade. The given fix ( Adding the line "read only = false" to /etc/local/rsync.confd ) seems to resolve the issue of the client not being able to connect.

The fix was not merged to 8.0.x. It is only in 8.2/trunk.
